Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Kigali city tour
Arrival in Kigali: On day 1 of 8 days Uganda safari from Kigali, you will be picked from Kigali international airport upon arrival and be transferred to your lodge. During the drive to the lodge, you will be briefed about the expectations in this 8 days safari. Once you arrive at the lodge, you will check in, have a meal depending on your time of arrival.
Kigali city tour: you will then have a city tour in the evening where you will visit some genocide memorial sites, market places and craft shops then be driven back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mutanda Resort for boat cruise and Transfer to Rushaga sector
Transfer to Lake Mutanda: On day 2 of 8 days Uganda safari from Kigali, you will have to wake up in the morning, have breakfast at the lodge in Kigali and then check out of the lodge to meet your drive for a ride to Uganda direct to Lake Mutanda which is about 3 hours’ drive from Kigali. Once you reach Lake Mutanda, you will check-in at the lodge, have a meal and then take part in some activities such as boat cruise and swimming within this fresh water lake free from diseases (Bilharzia).
Transfer to Rushaga sector: In the evening you will then be transferred to Rushaga sector the only sector in Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park where gorilla habituation is carried out. This will take you 2 hours’ drive from Lake Mutanda so expect to arrive late in the evening for check-in, Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in the Rushaga sector
Gorilla trekking in Rushaga sector: On the 3rd day of 8 days Uganda safari from Kigali, you will have to enjoy your heavy breakfast at the lodge then be transferred to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. In the process of gorilla trekking, you will be allowed to hire a porter, obtain a hiking stick and then enter into the forest to search for the habituated mountain gorilla families in the jungle. You will spend just one hour taking photographs of the gorillas in close vicinity then return to the lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

You will have an enroute lunch and then proceed with the journey to Ishasha where you will have a game drive amidst tree-climbing lions and other mammals that occupy the Ishasha sector. After the game drive you will then proceed to the lodge for check in, dinner and overnight at Elephant plains Lodge ( it's a luxury lodge or you can choose the lodge of your choice)

Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi nature walk
Chimpanzee trekking: this is the 7th day of 8 days Uganda safari from Kigali, you will wake up in the morning, as usual, have breakfast, pack some snacks and water then be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off to trek the habituated chimpanzees in their natural habitat in kibale forest. Chimpanzee habituation lasts between 2-6 hours and only one is allowed to spend with the chimpanzee in the jungle taking photographs and learning their manners then return to the lodge for lunch.
