Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Gisenyi to explore Lake Kivu

Kigali to Gisenyi: on the 1st day of 8 days Uganda wildlife viewing safari & Congo Nyiragongo hiking safari, you will be picked up by our company driver from either hotel in Kigali or from Kigali international airport and be transferred to Gisenyi where you will enjoy your late lunch and then spend the remaining hours of the day exploring lake kivu. With an option of boat cruise in the afternoon, swim and walk along the shores of Lake Kivu. Later in the evening, you will be driven direct to your reserved hotel in Gisenyi for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Hike Nyiragongo in Virunga national park

Hike Nyiragongo: After breakfast at your hotel in Gisenyi on day 2 of 8 days Uganda wildlife viewing safari & Congo Nyiragongo hiking safari, you will be transferred to Goma a Rwanda Congo boarder where you will cross over through Grande Barriere. Clear with park management, obtain your Nyiragongo hiking permit and be driven to Kibati ranger post to meet other Volcano hikers for a briefing, porter hiring and finally start ascending mount Nyiragongo. Mount Nyiragongo is known to be the most active volcanic mountain with in virunga massive that last erupted in 2002. An overnight at the summit of Nyiragongo is such a rewarding experience as it offers an opportunity to watch the crater lave at the top of Nyiragongo glowing in the night.
Day 3: Descend Nyiragongo and drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Descend Nyiragongo and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park: Breakfast at the summit will be prepared very early and later meet other hiker to start day 3 of 8 days Uganda wildlife viewing safari & Congo Nyiragongo hiking safari with a descent back to Kibati ranger post where the hike started. Upon arrival at Kibati, you will be driven back to Goma where you will cross over back into Rwanda and meet your safari driver to have an enroute meal and you transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park in Uganda for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park

Bwindi gorilla trekking adventure: Enjoy a served breakfast on day 4 of 8 days Uganda wildlife viewing safari & Congo Nyiragongo hiking safari then pack enough drinking water, some snacks and a lunch box and be transferred to the park headquarters to join other trekkers for a briefing. After briefing, you will start the search of habituated mountain gorillas in the jungles of Bwindi impenetrable forest. Once you finally land on the habituated mountain gorilla family, be ready to spend a maximum duration of one hour with the gorillas and later on return to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking certificates as you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Bwindi impenetrable national park – Queen Elizabeth national park: Enjoy your relaxed breakfast at the lodge on day 5 of 8 days Uganda wildlife viewing safari & Congo Nyiragongo hiking safari then check out with all your belongings and exit Bwindi impenetrable national park to Queen Elizabeth national park with an enroute lunch. Upon arrival into Queen Elizabeth national park, you will enter through the Ishasha sector for enroute game drive to watch the mighty tree climbing lions if lucky. In case, after an encounter with tree climbing lions, you will proceed the drive to Buffalo safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national Park.

Morning game drive & afternoon boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park: Breakfast at the lodge is the first thing to enjoy early in the morning on day 6 of 8 days Uganda wildlife viewing safari & Congo Nyiragongo hiking safari. After breakfast, be driven to kasenyi plains for a game drive to view different species of wildlife including mammals, birds, and a clear vegetation. After game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and head to kazinga channel for an afternoon boat cruise as you watch Crocodiles, hippos, water birds and many more wildlife along the kazinga channel.
Day 7: Transfer to Kibale forest national park & chimpanzee trekking

During chimpanzee trekking in kibale forest national park, you will encounter other primates such as monkeys, baboons etc since the park is a home to 13 primate species. You will also encounter other wildlife including mammals, birds, butterflies and many more. After trekking chimpanzees, you will return at the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Transfer to Kampala for departures

Kibale forest national park – Kampala for departures: Enjoy a relaxed breakfast on day 8 of 8 days Uganda wildlife viewing safari & Congo Nyiragongo hiking safari then check out of the lodge and be driven to Kampala. Once you arrive in Kampala, you will enjoy your lunch and then proceed to the airport for departures.
